The artist divides the year between Norway and a white village near Málaga, where their atelier is based. Working across acrylic, watercolor, drawing, ink, and charcoal, their practice is diverse and exploratory. Growing up in northwestern Norway, surrounded by mountains and fjords, deeply shaped their connection to nature. This upbringing fostered a fascination with hidden worlds beneath surfaces. Their art exists between reality and fiction, creating a personal, imaginative space. The creative process blends intuition with conscious decision-making. Each artwork emerges from exploration, surprise, and reflection on both the external world and inner self.
Born in Mohács, Hungary, Gabor Richter began his professional journey in engineering, working as an airport planner in Germany. Despite a successful career, his deep passion for art led to a decisive turning point in 2013. He then pursued formal training at the Art Academy of Bad Reichenhall under the mentorship of Markus Lüpertz, where he developed a distinctive and expressive visual language.
His work spans painting, sculpture, and mixed media, exploring a wide range of materials and techniques defined by transformation and experimentation. Inspired by his Hungarian roots, travel experiences, and historical and social themes, his art reflects constant reinvention and a fearless approach to creation.
His paintings are characterized by vibrant color intensity, dynamic gestures, and a strong emotional presence. Each piece reveals a unique perspective, where color and form merge into expressive and energetic compositions.
For Gabor Richter, art is an ongoing journey of transformation — a space of creative freedom where risk is essential and expression knows no limits.
