Currently based in Tyresö, Sweden, Mikaela Karimi is a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose practice moves fluidly between sculpture, fashion, craft, and technology.

After beginning her career in the fashion world, in 2019 she shifted her focus to sculptural work, which explores the relationship between the human body, society, feminism and motherhood. Her artworks often combine tactile craftsmanship with contemporary technological approaches, creating objects that convey a sense that is both intimate and conceptually charged.

In addition to her own artistic practice, Karimi is closely associated with Svenska Konstgalleriet, where a strong emphasis on emotional resonance and poetic expression continues to shape the gallery’s identity. In her sculptures, she treats form as a space for transformation, a place where new emotions, perspectives, and narratives can emerge. The result is work that is both deeply personal and socially reflective, positioning Karimi as a distinctive voice within the contemporary Scandinavian art scene.
