Born in Iran, trained in Georgia, and now based in Mexico City, SOHA is an internationally exhibited contemporary glass artist whose work reimagines the ancient art of mosaic through a contemporary perspective. Combining technical innovation with artistic sensitivity, she has developed a distinctive groutless mosaic technique that transforms thousands of hand-cut glass fragments into luminous portraits rich with light, movement, and psychological depth.

At the heart of SOHA’s practice is an exploration of identity, perception, and emotion. Her portraits invite viewers into a visual dialogue where abstraction and realism coexist: up close, the glass fragments reveal intricate patterns of color and texture, while from a distance they resolve into expressive faces whose gaze becomes the emotional center of the work. Light plays an active role, constantly changing the appearance of each piece as the viewer moves through the space.

Presented at Art World Marbella 2026, Mysterious Luster exemplifies SOHA’s unique approach. Crafted from stained glass and mixed materials, the monumental portrait explores themes of contemplation, concealment, and inner strength, demonstrating how an ancient medium can become a powerful vehicle for contemporary expression.
