Victor Bokarev’s work is driven by a lifelong fascination with abstraction as a means of revealing the invisible. Trained at the Surikov Art School and the Stroganov State University of Art and Design in Moscow, the Russian artist has built an international career spanning more than six decades of exhibitions across Europe and beyond. His practice has long explored philosophical and poetic themes, seeking not to reproduce reality but to uncover the deeper emotions and meanings that lie beneath its surface.
The discovery of fractal geometry marked a profound turning point in Bokarev’s artistic vision. Recognising mathematics as “the language of nature,” he found in fractals a visual expression of infinite complexity emerging from simple, repeating structures. Created entirely in black and white, this series strips away distraction to reveal the graphic elegance, rhythm, and harmony of these extraordinary forms, inviting viewers into a state of quiet contemplation.
For Bokarev, abstraction is not simply a visual language but an experience. His works encourage viewers to move beyond observation and enter a space where science, nature, and emotion converge. Like music without words, these compositions make the invisible tangible, transforming mathematical order into a meditative journey that celebrates both the mystery and beauty of the infinite.
