Fritz Oberleitner’s paintings explore the relationship between perception, cognition and reality. Rather than depicting the visible world, his work investigates how fleeting impressions are transformed into thought. Through a distinctive figurative language, painting becomes an act of visual thinking—a space where observation and reflection merge, revealing the subtle processes through which we construct meaning.

At the heart of his practice is a unique spatial system that moves beyond classical perspective. His compositions are shaped by an inner, subjective viewpoint in which forms, symbols and architectural elements unfold like fragments of consciousness. Rather than presenting fixed narratives, Oberleitner creates open visual structures that invite viewers to actively participate in interpreting and reconstructing reality.
