“We work with artists from diverse cultures and perspectives, challenging conventional norms in art. Its name, “MAYEN,” evokes magic and mystery, symbolizing the artist’s worldview”
– Mayen Gallery
MAYEN Gallery is a contemporary art space in Spain dedicated to presenting artists whose practices are shaped by diverse cultures, ancestral knowledge, and unique worldviews. Inspired by the Celtic word Mayen, meaning “Field of Magicians,” the gallery champions art that explores the symbolic, the spiritual, and the transformative, creating a dialogue between tradition and contemporary expression.
Founded by Bolivian architect Maureen Aracena, whose background spans architecture, heritage conservation, and cultural preservation, MAYEN Gallery serves as a meeting point for artistic disciplines and intercultural exchange. Through exhibitions that embrace archaeology, anthropology, architecture, and the natural world, the gallery celebrates art as a catalyst for reflection and new ways of understanding reality.
Presented at Art World Marbella 2026, The Sun embodies the gallery’s vision through the image of a radiant solar goddess symbolizing human transformation and the awakening of a new consciousness. Rich in crystalline forms and luminous golden elements, the work invites viewers to cross the threshold between the visible and the invisible, encouraging a contemplative journey toward inner awareness and spiritual evolution.
