“My entire painting revolves around Nature and my desires. Both merge just as colors merge, allowing me to tell, in my own way, a story that has been told countless times—walking the line between abstraction and figuration. Nothing is real, yet everything exists. I want to create an atmosphere that invites the viewer to step into the painting and want to live within it.”
— Pilar Pedraza
Pilar Pedraza is a Spanish painter whose work is deeply rooted in nature, emotion, and memory. After beginning her professional career in education, she dedicated herself fully to painting, building a distinguished career through solo and group exhibitions and regular participation in contemporary art fairs across Spain and internationally. Based in her studio in Madrid’s historic center, where she was born and continues to live, her works can now be found in collections around the world.
At the heart of Pedraza’s practice is a poetic balance between abstraction and figuration. Landscapes, flowers, and imagined interiors become emotional spaces where color transcends representation, expressing personal experiences and universal feelings. Her paintings invite viewers to step beyond the visible world into immersive environments shaped by memory, imagination, and the restorative presence of nature.
This vision comes to life in her series My Own Room, where intimate spaces become metaphors for the inner self. Through luminous palettes and expressive brushwork, Pedraza transforms the canvas into a place of serenity, reflection, and emotional connection. Each work offers an invitation not simply to observe, but to inhabit the painting, reaffirming her belief in art’s power to create spaces of beauty, contemplation, and belonging.
We are delighted to present her as one of our VIP Artists exhibiting ART WORLD MARBELLA 2026.
