Since 2007, Dan-Raul Pintea has been on a courageous journey to establish himself as a visual artist. After earning his degrees in fine arts and resigning from two secure positions—one as a university art lecturer and another as a DTP designer—he committed himself fully to his passion: art. For years, Pintea sustained his practice through T-shirt designs and modestly priced artwork sales, knowing that his true value lay beyond Eastern Europe’s affordability limits, as he recognized after his success at Preview Art Fair Berlin.
This realization led to the creation of Dragoste Space, a brand and gallery born out of love for art. The name Dragoste, Romanian for “love,” represents more than a mere theme in Pintea’s practice—it symbolizes the fundamental force that connects people, the materials that make up his works, and the passage of time that shapes both the art and the artist.
In Pintea’s works, love becomes tangible: seen in the textures, the recycling of materials, and the act of preservation, regeneration, and reconstruction. From handmade paper to printed t-shirts and intricate installations, Dragoste transcends romanticism, touching upon existential themes of memory, interaction, and the marks we leave behind.
Pintea’s works are designed to be experienced as a unified statement, reflecting his own path of creation—sometimes sustained by his T-shirt designs, and at other times by his innovative use of recycled materials, including handmade paper from product packaging. Over the past two decades, he has created nearly 200 works, of which 60 remain, ready for the world to witness.
Pintea brings Dragoste Space to the heart of Paris. It is an invitation to step into a universe constructed from love, magic, and artistic rebellion. Through his dedication and uncompromising vision, Pintea is ready to share his world with the art community of Paris.
Dan-Raul Pintea – A passionate artist, performer, and the founder of Dragoste Space, he continues to explore the intersection of love, survival, and the hidden economy of art through interdisciplinary projects. His unique approach, seen through projects like Dragoste la Birou (Love at the Office) and Artiști Anonimi (Anonymous Artists), challenges the norms of the art world, questioning both the visibility and value of artistic labor.
Step into Pintea’s world at Dragoste Space, now coming to AW Paris, and experience an art that moves beyond borders, cultures, and time.
