Inés de la Calzada is an artist whose life and work are deeply influenced by her diverse experiences. She graduated in Law with a Master’s in Stock Markets and Financial Markets in Madrid, but it is her lifelong passion for painting and creativity that defines her today.

What sets Inés de la Calzada’s art apart is her unique use of methacrylates, which transforms her pieces into immersive 360º experiences. The viewer is invited to interact with the artwork from multiple perspectives, challenging traditional methods by suspending the pieces rather than hanging them. This allows light and transparency to redefine the experience, drawing the viewer into the art.

A central aspect of Inés’s work is her commitment to sustainability. She recycles plastics—both from her studio and from environmentally-conscious brands—giving them a second life in her art. This innovative approach not only reduces waste but also fosters a deeper connection between art and the environment, advocating for a more sustainable and mindful way of creating.

All actions leave traces, and through Inés de la Calzada’s paintings, it becomes clear that these traces also manifest in her art. Recognizing this, she began layering every trace left by her painting onto plastic sheets used to protect her studio, as well as plastics collected from various environmentally-conscious brands.

This approach transforms her art into a sustainable practice, breathing new life into recycled materials while creating visually impactful works that also engage with the environment. Her pieces, rich in color, light, and transparency, create a dynamic visual experience that invites the viewer into a 360° interpretation. With a personal and marked style, her art transcends the static, evolving with each gaze and allowing for a unique, limitless interaction. The technique she has developed provides an open space for interpretation, where the mind perceives more than what is immediately visible.

Through an innovative technique, Inés has liberated her artwork from traditional constraints. The viewer can experience each piece from various angles, making the image not confined to a single side. The artwork becomes alive, continuously expanding and evolving with the viewer’s perception.

Her work aims for visual disruption, establishing powerful connections of creativity, experimentation, evolution, and sustainability. Inés’s creative process is a constant journey, where experimentation and emotion are at its core. Each brushstroke, every layer of plastic, and each abstract form tells a story—an emotion that is lived and communicated to the viewer.

Inés does not title her paintings because she believes in granting the viewer the freedom to feel what they see. The experience of the viewer—who they are, from what perspective they observe the work, and how their emotions awaken through those traces—is what truly matters. Art, for Inés, is a form of direct communication with the soul, and her mission is to offer that connection.

At the same time, Inés’s work is deeply committed to sustainability. By recycling plastics from her studio and collaborating with environmentally-conscious brands, she transforms waste into art, demonstrating that creation’s essence is as profound as the process, energy, and emotions that accompany it.

In each piece, Inés invites the viewer on an emotional journey, offering the chance to discover something new—something beyond the visual. This is how her art becomes an immersive, disruptive, unique, and, above all, genuine experience.
